Internal Affairs

It is the policy of the Anderson Police Department to ensure that integrity is maintained through an internal system. Complaints will be investigated in an impartial manner. If the matter is determined to be criminal in nature, it will be reported to the appropriate agency. If the complaint is to be handled internally by the Internal Affairs Division you will be notified by mail of the final disposition of the matter. If the case is sustained, you will not be notified of the disciplinary action(s) taken against the employee. This action is a personnel matter, not public information.

If you feel that your rights have been violated and you would like to file a complaint against an employee of the Anderson Police Department, please contact the Internal Affairs Division. You can be assured that the Anderson Police Department will not tolerate any misconduct on the part of an Anderson Police Department employee. Any fictitious or misleading complaints against an employee may be subject to Criminal and/or Civil prosecution under section 16-9-30 of the South Carolina Code of Laws.

A complaint can be filed with Internal Affairs in the following ways:

Inspector David R. Creamer has been employed by Anderson City Police Department for 12-and-half years. After 10 years on patrol, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on Patrol for two years. He is on the Crisis Negotiation Team with Anderson City SWAT team and also on the AET (Alcohol Enforcement Task Force). He was selected Officer of the Year in 2003 and received a Resolution from the State of South Carolina House of Representatives. Inspector Creamer is a third generation Police Officer.
